Volume 1 and Volume 2: The Pilot Project

Before the book-by-book albums and themed worship releases, Resonate the Word began with a pilot: two albums aiming to cover the entire Bible in song while remaining faithful to Scripture. Volume 1 and Volume 2 released together on March 1, 2025, as the first full expression of that vision from Nashville under primary songwriter and producer Jeff Barnette.

The goal was ambitious and simple at once. Could music help listeners feel the sweep of the whole story, Old Testament and New, without drifting from the text? These volumes were the first answer.

Volume 1: the Old Testament in song

Volume 1 is an immersive journey through the story of Scripture, capturing the heartbeat of the Old Testament in 28 songs. Spanning all 39 books, the album transforms ancient prophecy, poetry, and history into a living soundscape meant to resonate with the soul.

The track list moves from beginnings through wilderness, kings, wisdom, and the prophets. Early songs include "Beginnings," "Out of Egypt," "Holy is the Lord," "Through the Wilderness," and "Remember and Obey." Later tracks include "The God of Second Chances," "Justice and Mercy," and "His House Will Stand."

Volume 2: the New Testament in song

Volume 2 captures the heartbeat of the New Testament in 22 songs, weaving together all 27 books into a seamless musical journey. From the life and teachings of Jesus to the birth of the Church, from letters of faith and endurance to the triumphant vision of Christ's return, the album transforms Scripture into sound.

The songs begin with titles such as "Resonate the Word," "The Gospel Story," "Kingdom Come," "Our Father," and "The Word Made Flesh," and move toward hope fulfilled in tracks like "Contend for the Faith," "Behold, He Comes," and "All Things New."

Why the pilot still matters

Volume 1 and Volume 2 proved the core conviction of Resonate the Word: Scripture can be set to music without abandoning faithfulness to the text. That pilot opened the door to the Bible Book Series, the Resonance Worship Series, and the wider catalog that followed.
