Joy

September 11, 2026 · 20 tracks · 1 hr 45 mins

The world offers joy as a fleeting feeling, dependent on circumstance and gone as quickly as it comes. The Bible offers something far deeper, a joy rooted not in what happens to us, but in who God is and what He has done. Joy traces that truth from Genesis to Revelation across twenty original songs, each grounded in a specific passage of Scripture and placed in the order those events and truths unfold across the biblical narrative, from the morning stars singing together at creation, through the laughter of Sarah and the songs of the Exodus, through David's dancing and Nehemiah's declaration that the joy of the Lord is our strength, through the Psalms and prophets' promises of joy restored, to the announcement of good news of great joy over Bethlehem, the ministry, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus, the joy of the Spirit-filled early church, Paul's unshakable joy from a prison cell, and finally the everlasting joy awaiting God's people when every tear is wiped away forever.

This is not a collection of shallow, happy songs about having a good day. It is a theologically grounded, scripturally faithful exploration of the deep, resilient gladness that comes from belonging to God, resting in His presence, trusting His promises, and hoping in His future. Listeners will walk through creation's original wonder, the laughter of impossible promises kept, the singing and dancing of a redeemed people, the strength found in the Lord even amid tears, the fullness of joy found only in His presence, sorrow turned to morning gladness, the shouting and clapping of joyful praise, the prophets' pictures of wells of salvation and oil of gladness, a baby leaping for joy in the womb, shepherds and wise men rejoicing over a newborn King, Jesus teaching His disciples that His joy might be made full in them, heaven's own joy over one sinner who repents, the stunned and joyful discovery of an empty tomb, the disciples' joy at His ascension, the Spirit-filled joy of the early church, Paul's charge to rejoice in the Lord always, and the everlasting joy that will one day be upon the heads of God's people forever.

Musically, Joy is the most stylistically vibrant album in the Resonance Worship Series, because joy itself refuses to sit still. Sweeping cinematic arrangements carry the wonder of creation and the weight of eternity. Warm acoustic and folk textures carry laughter, wonder, and quiet promise. Driving tribal percussion and Middle-Eastern-flavored worship carry the exodus and the dance of a delivered people. Funk-inflected gospel and clap-along praise carry unrestrained celebration. Gospel-blues carries the honest ache of sorrow turning to morning joy. Anthemic pop-rock and gospel-rock carry resilience, resurrection power, and the call to rejoice always. Hip-hop-influenced rhythm and cadence carry modern testimony and Spirit-filled celebration. Every style, however it's dressed, is written to be uplifting, hope-filled, and singable, because the subject of this album is the very joy it hopes to deliver.

Joy is scripturally accurate, theologically sound, and immediately singable, appropriate for personal devotion, corporate worship gatherings, celebration, and family listening across every age and stage of life. It is an invitation to stop chasing fleeting happiness and instead discover the unshakable, ever-present joy that is found only in Jesus, a joy the world did not give, and a joy the world cannot take away.

"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalm 16:11

    When the Morning Stars Sang

    Job 38:4-7

    Lyrics

Before the mountains found their place Before the sun had shown its face Before a single word was spoken here He laid the footings of the earth He measured out its ancient girth And joy was born before there was a fear Who set the cornerstone in place Who stretched the line across all space While darkness waited for the light to come And in that moment, in that hour Before there was a throne or power Creation found its voice and joy begun When the morning stars sang together When the sons of God shouted for joy Heaven and earth were singing forever Before there was a girl or a boy Joy was the sound of the first light breaking Joy was the song the whole universe made And the joy that rang out at the world's awaking Still rings out today, it will never fade He set the sea its boundary line He hung the stars, He called them mine He breathed the wind into the waiting trees And every living, breathing thing Was made to dance, was made to sing Was made to know this kind of joy and peace When the morning stars sang together When the sons of God shouted for joy Heaven and earth were singing forever Before there was a girl or a boy Joy was the sound of the first light breaking Joy was the song the whole universe made And the joy that rang out at the world's awaking Still rings out today, it will never fade I was not there to see it start But the echo still is in my heart The joy that made the heavens ring Is still the joy You give to me I was not there to see it start But that same joy is who You are The joy that made the heavens ring Is still the joy You give to me When the morning stars sang together When the sons of God shouted for joy Heaven and earth were singing forever Before there was a girl or a boy Joy was the sound of the first light breaking Joy was the song the whole universe made And the joy that rang out at the world's awaking Still rings out today, it will never fade Before the world began Joy was already Yours to give Before the world began This is the joy in which I live

    The Sound of Laughter

    Genesis 18:10-14, 21:1-7

    Lyrics

Under the tent by the terebinth tree Three strangers came and Sarah listened close She heard the promise, she began to laugh Behind the tent flap, no one else would know A baby, now, at ninety years of age It seemed a joke too impossible to hold But nothing is too hard for God to do That's what the stranger said, that's what she was told The seasons turned, the promise did not fade And in the spring, just as the Lord had said A baby's cry rang out across the camp And Sarah held the son she'd never dreamed She named him Isaac, laughter was his name A living proof that God does what He says No womb too old, no promise held too long For Him who made the morning and the days God has made laughter for me Everyone who hears will laugh with me Who would have said, who could believe Sarah would nurse a child at ninety-three This is the sound of joy fulfilled This is the sound of a promise kept God has made laughter for me Joy that was worth every year I wept How many nights she wondered if He'd forget How many years the promise seemed delayed But heaven's timing is not our own And joy arrives in its appointed day So if you're waiting on a word He gave If it feels foolish, if it feels too late Remember Sarah laughing by the tent And trust the God who never comes too late God has made laughter for me Everyone who hears will laugh with me Who would have said, who could believe Sarah would nurse a child at ninety-three This is the sound of joy fulfilled This is the sound of a promise kept God has made laughter for me Joy that was worth every year I wept Is anything too hard for the Lord Is anything too far for His hand Is anything too old, too far gone For the God who keeps every plan Is anything too hard for the Lord Is anything too far for His hand Sarah's laughing, and I am laughing too Because I finally understand God has made laughter for me Everyone who hears will laugh with me Who would have said, who could believe Sarah would nurse a child at ninety-three This is the sound of joy fulfilled This is the sound of a promise kept God has made laughter for me Joy that was worth every year I wept God has made laughter for me God has made laughter for me

    Song of the Sea

    Exodus 14:21-31, 15:1-2, 20-21

    Lyrics

The water stood like walls of glass The people walked where none had passed Behind them, Pharaoh's army came But ahead of them, the Lord had made a way All night the wind was blowing strong All night He held that sea so long And when the morning light broke through His people stood on ground both dry and new The chariots rushed into the sea The waters closed, and Egypt ceased to be The Lord had fought, His people watched Him win No sword was drawn from any hand of men And when they turned to see the shore The fear they carried was no more It turned to singing, turned to praise It turned to joy that would not fade for days I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed The horse and rider thrown into the sea He is my strength, He is my song He has become my victory Miriam, take up your tambourine Dance on the shore where we are free Sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed This is the sound of a people set free The women danced, the timbrels rang The children laughed, the elders sang A nation born in bondage found its feet And walked in joy toward the promised land This is the story every soul should know There is a sea, there is a place to go Where chains fall off and fear gives way To joy that rises with the break of day I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed The horse and rider thrown into the sea He is my strength, He is my song He has become my victory Miriam, take up your tambourine Dance on the shore where we are free Sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed This is the sound of a people set free Who is like You among the gods Majestic in holiness, mighty to save Who is like You, glorious in power You split the sea, You split the grave Who is like You among the gods Majestic in holiness, mighty to save Who is like You, glorious in power You split the sea, You split the grave I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed The horse and rider thrown into the sea He is my strength, He is my song He has become my victory Miriam, take up your tambourine Dance on the shore where we are free Sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed This is the sound of a people set free Sing to the Lord, He has triumphed Dance on the shore, we are free

    Dance Before the Lord

    2 Samuel 6:12-16; 1 Chronicles 15:16, 25-29

    Lyrics

The ark is coming up the road Shouting, trumpets, hearts on fire David's dancing in the streets He don't care who's watching, he's on fire Every step, a step of praise Every leap, a leap of thanks Bringing glory back to Zion Filling up the city's ranks He took off his kingly robe Danced before the Lord with all his might Some may say it's too much joy But joy like this just can't stay out of sight The harps are ringing, cymbals crash The people shout, the trumpets blow This ain't a show for men to watch This is a heart that has to let it go I'm gonna dance before the Lord With all my might, I don't care who's watching I'm gonna shout and sing and clap my hands This joy in me, it just keeps on rising Let the drums beat, let the horns sound Let the whole earth hear this celebration I'm gonna dance before the Lord This joy is my declaration Michal watched from up above Thought the king had lost his crown of pride But David said, I'll be undignified For the joy of God, I'll set my pride aside Some will mock what they don't feel Some will judge what they can't see But the joy of knowing who God is Is worth every bit of losing dignity I'm gonna dance before the Lord With all my might, I don't care who's watching I'm gonna shout and sing and clap my hands This joy in me, it just keeps on rising Let the drums beat, let the horns sound Let the whole earth hear this celebration I'm gonna dance before the Lord This joy is my declaration Clap your hands, all you people Shout to God with a voice of joy Clap your hands, all you people Shout to God with a voice of joy He is King over all the earth He is worthy of every praise Clap your hands, all you people Let the dance become your praise I'm gonna dance before the Lord With all my might, I don't care who's watching I'm gonna shout and sing and clap my hands This joy in me, it just keeps on rising Let the drums beat, let the horns sound Let the whole earth hear this celebration I'm gonna dance before the Lord This joy is my declaration Dance before the Lord With all your might Dance before the Lord

    The Joy of the Lord

    Nehemiah 8:9-12

    Lyrics

The walls are up but the people weep They hear the Word and it cuts them deep Broken by the years they lost Grieving over the weight and cost But Nehemiah stands and says This is not a day for tears This is a holy day, be still Let go of all your fears Go your way, eat the fat Drink the sweet, and share your bread For with the ones who have nothing ready Let this feast be shared instead Do not be grieved, do not be sad For this alone will make you strong Not your effort, not your striving But the joy the Lord has given, sing this song The joy of the Lord is my strength The joy of the Lord is my strength When the walls are broken, when the night is long The joy of the Lord is my strength Not because the fight is over Not because the tears have dried But because His joy is with me The joy of the Lord is my strength inside There's a strength that isn't loud There's a strength that doesn't shout It's the quiet, steady fire That keeps on burning when I doubt It's not pretending I'm not weak It's not denying that I've cried It's knowing He is with me still The joy of the Lord is on my side The joy of the Lord is my strength The joy of the Lord is my strength When the walls are broken, when the night is long The joy of the Lord is my strength Not because the fight is over Not because the tears have dried But because His joy is with me The joy of the Lord is my strength inside So lift your head, and dry your eyes This is a holy day, don't be afraid Lift your head, and dry your eyes This is a holy day the Lord has made Lift your head, and dry your eyes This is a holy day, don't be afraid Lift your head, and dry your eyes This is a holy day the Lord has made The joy of the Lord is my strength The joy of the Lord is my strength When the walls are broken, when the night is long The joy of the Lord is my strength Not because the fight is over Not because the tears have dried But because His joy is with me The joy of the Lord is my strength inside The joy of the Lord is my strength This is my strength, my strength today

    Joy Comes in the Morning

    Psalm 30:5, 11-12; Psalm 126:5-6

    Lyrics

I have cried through nights that had no end I have sowed my seed with tears again I have wondered if the sun would rise I have questioned with my weary eyes But His anger, oh, it's just a moment long His favor lasts a whole life long Weeping may come and stay the night But joy is waiting with the morning light They went out weeping, carrying the seed Not knowing if the harvest would succeed But they will come again with joy Carrying their sheaves, singing songs Every tear I've planted in this ground Will bloom into a joy I haven't found So let me sow, even though I weep For morning always comes to those who keep Weeping may tarry for the night But joy comes in the morning Weeping may tarry for the night But joy comes in the morning He turned my mourning into dancing He took away my sackcloth, clothed me with gladness Weeping may tarry for the night But joy comes in the morning I won't pretend the night's not real I won't pretend I do not feel The weight of every tear I've cried The ache I sometimes cannot hide But I have seen the morning come before I have seen Him open up the door And turn my sorrow into a song So I will trust Him, I'll hold on Weeping may tarry for the night But joy comes in the morning Weeping may tarry for the night But joy comes in the morning He turned my mourning into dancing He took away my sackcloth, clothed me with gladness Weeping may tarry for the night But joy comes in the morning Those who sow in tears Shall reap with shouts of joy Those who sow in tears Shall reap with shouts of joy Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves Coming home with joy, bringing in the sheaves Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves Coming home with joy, bringing in the sheaves Weeping may tarry for the night But joy comes in the morning Weeping may tarry for the night But joy comes in the morning He turned my mourning into dancing He took away my sackcloth, clothed me with gladness Weeping may tarry for the night But joy comes in the morning Joy comes in the morning Joy comes in the morning

    Luke 2:8-14

    Lyrics

Out in the fields the shepherds kept Watch on their flock beneath the stars When suddenly the sky broke open And glory shone out from afar They fell afraid, they hid their eyes But then a voice said, Do not fear I bring you news, the best you'll ever hear For unto you, a Savior now is here This will be the sign you're given A baby wrapped and laid in hay Born in David's town this evening The One the prophets longed to say And then the sky was filled with voices An army bright of angels singing loud Glory to God in highest heaven And peace to men, they sang it clear and proud Good news, good news of great joy For all the people, everywhere A Savior's born this very night Christ the Lord, He's finally here Glory to God in the highest And on earth, peace and good will Good news, good news of great joy The whole of heaven's singing still The shepherds ran to Bethlehem They found it just as they were told A baby in a manger bed More precious than the finest gold And they went out and told the story To everyone that they could find And all who heard were left in wonder At the joy that changed all humankind Good news, good news of great joy For all the people, everywhere A Savior's born this very night Christ the Lord, He's finally here Glory to God in the highest And on earth, peace and good will Good news, good news of great joy The whole of heaven's singing still Glory to God in the highest Glory to God in the highest Peace on earth, good will to men Glory to God in the highest Glory to God in the highest Glory to God in the highest Peace on earth, good will to men Christ the Lord is born again Good news, good news of great joy For all the people, everywhere A Savior's born this very night Christ the Lord, He's finally here Glory to God in the highest And on earth, peace and good will Good news, good news of great joy The whole of heaven's singing still Good news of great joy Christ the Lord is here

    We Have Seen His Star

    Matthew 2:1-2, 9-11

    Lyrics

We left our homes beneath a foreign sky We followed something we could not explain A light that rose above the eastern hills And called us out across the desert plain We did not know the road would be so long We did not know what waited at the end But when a star begins to lead you somewhere You follow, and you follow it again Through Jerusalem we asked the question Where is the child, the King who's newly born Herod's face went pale with fear and trouble But the star moved on before the coming morn It stopped above the place where He was staying And when we saw it, we rejoiced, exceeding glad We had traveled all this way to find Him And joy was waiting for the hearts we had We have seen His star in the east We have come to worship Him We rejoiced with exceeding great joy When the light led us in Gold and frankincense and myrrh We laid before the newborn King We have seen His star in the east And now our hearts can only sing We fell down low before the manger A King who did not look the way we thought No throne of gold, no palace ceiling Just a mother's arms and all that love had brought But joy don't always come the way we plan it Sometimes it's smaller than we thought it'd be Sometimes the greatest King you'll ever worship Is found in weakness, found in simplicity We have seen His star in the east We have come to worship Him We rejoiced with exceeding great joy When the light led us in Gold and frankincense and myrrh We laid before the newborn King We have seen His star in the east And now our hearts can only sing Every road that leads to Jesus Every star that points the way Every heart that keeps on searching Will find joy at the end of the day Every road that leads to Jesus Every star that points the way Every heart that keeps on searching Will find joy at the end of the day We have seen His star in the east We have come to worship Him We rejoiced with exceeding great joy When the light led us in Gold and frankincense and myrrh We laid before the newborn King We have seen His star in the east And now our hearts can only sing We have seen His star We have found our King

As the Father has loved Me So I have loved you, abide in this Keep My commandments, stay here with Me As I remain within the Father's peace I have told you all these things Not to weigh you down or make you sad But so My joy might live inside you And your joy would be full, complete, and glad You will weep, you will lament While the world outside is laughing on But your sorrow will be turned to joy Like a woman when her labor's gone She forgets the pain she carried When she holds the child she bore So your hearts will hurt a little longer But I'll see you, and you'll grieve no more That My joy may be in you And that your joy may be full No one takes this joy away No one takes this joy from you Ask, and you will receive it That your joy may be complete That My joy may be in you This is the promise that I keep A little while, and you won't see Me A little while again, you will I am going to the Father But I'm coming back to you, be still Whatever you will ask the Father In My name, He will provide So that your joy will be made full So that this joy will never subside That My joy may be in you And that your joy may be full No one takes this joy away No one takes this joy from you Ask, and you will receive it That your joy may be complete That My joy may be in you This is the promise that I keep Your sorrow will turn to joy Your sorrow will turn to joy I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice And no one will take your joy Your sorrow will turn to joy Your sorrow will turn to joy I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice And no one will take your joy That My joy may be in you And that your joy may be full No one takes this joy away No one takes this joy from you Ask, and you will receive it That your joy may be complete That My joy may be in you This is the promise that I keep That My joy may be in you That your joy may be full

    Joy in Heaven

    Luke 15:4-10, 20-24

    Lyrics

Ninety-nine were safe up on the hill But one was missing, and the Shepherd felt it still He left the crowd, He went out on the search Through the valley, through the thorns, through the dirt He didn't wait for the sheep to find its way He went and looked until the end of the day And when He found it, He didn't scold or shame He picked it up and He carried it home again A woman lost a coin, just one out of ten She lit a lamp, swept the corners, searched again She looked until she found it, shining on the ground Called her neighbors over, said, Look what I found It's the same with heaven when a sinner turns When a wandering heart comes back and finally learns There's a party breaking out among the angels' choir One lost soul is worth the whole house catching fire There is joy, there is joy in heaven Over one who was lost but now is found There is joy, there is joy in heaven Angels singing, trumpets sound Bring the robe, bring the ring, kill the feast Bring him home, let the music start There is joy, there is joy in heaven Over one repentant heart A son took his share and he ran away Wasted it all in a foreign place Hit rock bottom, feeding pigs for bread Said, I'll go home, even as a hired hand instead But while he was far off, his father saw him first Ran to meet him, no anger, no words of hurt Wrapped him in his arms before he could explain Said, My son who was dead now lives again There is joy, there is joy in heaven Over one who was lost but now is found There is joy, there is joy in heaven Angels singing, trumpets sound Bring the robe, bring the ring, kill the feast Bring him home, let the music start There is joy, there is joy in heaven Over one repentant heart He was dead, and he's alive again He was lost, and now he's found He was dead, and he's alive again Let the music, let the dancing sound He was dead, and he's alive again He was lost, and now he's found He was dead, and he's alive again Let the music, let the dancing sound There is joy, there is joy in heaven Over one who was lost but now is found There is joy, there is joy in heaven Angels singing, trumpets sound Bring the robe, bring the ring, kill the feast Bring him home, let the music start There is joy, there is joy in heaven Over one repentant heart There is joy in heaven Over one who's found

    Risen with Joy

    Matthew 28:1-9; John 20:19-20

    Lyrics

Before the dawn, the women came To a tomb still sealed with grief and stone But the earth began to shake beneath them And the stone was rolled, the guard was overthrown An angel sat where death had settled Said, Why look for the living with the dead He is not here, He has risen Just as He said, go now, go and spread the news They ran with fear, but greater joy Running fast to tell the ones they knew And then He met them on the road And said, Do not be afraid, it's true They fell before Him, held His feet The One they thought they'd never see again And every fear they carried melted Into joy too big to hold within He is risen, He is risen Fear is giving way to great joy He is risen, He is risen Death has lost the one it tried to destroy Run and tell it, run and tell it The tomb is empty, the grave has no hold He is risen, He is risen This is the story that never gets old Behind locked doors, the frightened few Were hiding from the world outside But Jesus came and stood among them Said, Peace be with you, and showed His side Then were the disciples glad Seeing the Lord they thought they'd lost Joy came crashing through their sorrow Life had conquered every cost He is risen, He is risen Fear is giving way to great joy He is risen, He is risen Death has lost the one it tried to destroy Run and tell it, run and tell it The tomb is empty, the grave has no hold He is risen, He is risen This is the story that never gets old Where, o death, is your victory Where, o death, is your sting He has risen, He has risen Death has lost, and joy is king Where, o death, is your victory Where, o death, is your sting He has risen, He has risen Death has lost, and joy is king He is risen, He is risen Fear is giving way to great joy He is risen, He is risen Death has lost the one it tried to destroy Run and tell it, run and tell it The tomb is empty, the grave has no hold He is risen, He is risen This is the story that never gets old He is risen indeed This is our great joy

    Returned with Joy

    Luke 24:50-53

    Lyrics

He led them out as far as Bethany He lifted up His hands and blessed them there And while He blessed them, He was carried Up and away into the open air They watched Him go until a cloud received Him Their eyes still fixed on where He used to stand And though the sky had taken Him from sight They felt the weight of blessing in that land You'd think their hearts would break in that departure You'd think they'd stand there empty, lost, afraid But they worshiped Him instead of weeping And turned toward home with joy that wouldn't fade They knew a promise still was coming They knew the story wasn't at its end So they returned to Jerusalem rejoicing Continually praising, blessing Him again They worshiped Him and returned with great joy Returned with great joy, returned with great joy Continually praising, continually blessing They worshiped Him and returned with great joy He is not gone, though He is not seen He is not far, though He's out of sight They worshiped Him and returned with great joy Waiting on the promise, walking in the light Sometimes our joy must live in waiting Sometimes the promise hasn't come just yet But joy was never only for the seeing Joy is for the trusting, for the debt Already paid, already settled Already sealed by blood upon the cross So even in the space of His ascending Nothing about His love for us was lost They worshiped Him and returned with great joy Returned with great joy, returned with great joy Continually praising, continually blessing They worshiped Him and returned with great joy He is not gone, though He is not seen He is not far, though He's out of sight They worshiped Him and returned with great joy Waiting on the promise, walking in the light Every promise He has made Every word He's ever said Is worth the waiting, worth the joy That rises up instead of dread Every promise He has made Every word He's ever said Is worth the waiting, worth the joy That rises up instead of dread They worshiped Him and returned with great joy Returned with great joy, returned with great joy Continually praising, continually blessing They worshiped Him and returned with great joy He is not gone, though He is not seen He is not far, though He's out of sight They worshiped Him and returned with great joy Waiting on the promise, walking in the light Returned with great joy Waiting on the promise

    Rejoice in the Lord Always

    Philippians 1:3-4; 2:17-18; 4:4, 11-13

    Lyrics

I write this letter from a chained-up cell But my heart is far from bound Every time I think of you, I'm thankful Every prayer I pray is full of joyful sound I've learned to be content in any season Whether little, whether much, or nothing at all I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me He is holding me, He'll never let me fall Even if my life is poured out like a drink offering Even if this all should come to cost I will still rejoice, and I'll rejoice with all of you For nothing done for Him is ever lost So you rejoice as well, and share this gladness Let it spread from heart to heart, from friend to friend This joy was never made to sit and settle It's made to move, to rise, to never end Rejoice in the Lord always Again I say, rejoice Rejoice in the Lord always Let it be your steady voice Not because it's easy Not because there's no more pain But because He's always faithful Rejoice in the Lord again Whatever's true, whatever's right and lovely Whatever's pure and worthy of your praise Think on these, and let your mind be guarded By a peace that guards you all your days The God of peace will walk beside you In plenty or in need, He's still the same So lift your voice up from whatever prison Rejoice again, and call upon His name Rejoice in the Lord always Again I say, rejoice Rejoice in the Lord always Let it be your steady voice Not because it's easy Not because there's no more pain But because He's always faithful Rejoice in the Lord again I can do all things Through Christ who strengthens me I can do all things Through Christ who strengthens me Whatever state I'm in I have learned to be content I can do all things Through Christ who strengthens me Rejoice in the Lord always Again I say, rejoice Rejoice in the Lord always Let it be your steady voice Not because it's easy Not because there's no more pain But because He's always faithful Rejoice in the Lord again Rejoice in the Lord always Again I say, rejoice

Count it all joy when trials come For the testing of your faith builds up your soul Though you have not seen Him with your eyes You love Him still, and joy has made you whole Inexpressible and glorious joy Filling every corner of your heart This is not a joy the world can measure This is a joy that heaven had a part For the joy that was before Him Jesus endured the cross, despised the shame He sat down at the Father's right hand And now He calls us to rejoice in His name He is not ashamed to call us family He has run the race that we could never run So let us run with endurance, fixing Our eyes on Him, the joy that's just begun Everlasting joy, everlasting joy Shall be upon our heads forever Sorrow and sighing will flee away Everlasting joy, forever and ever A new heaven and a new earth are coming God Himself will wipe away every tear No more death, no more mourning, no more crying Everlasting joy is finally here I saw a new heaven and a new earth The old had passed away and was no more I saw the holy city coming down Like a bride made ready for the door And I heard a voice from the throne say Behold, I'm making everything brand new God will dwell with them, and they'll be His people And every tear will find its ending too Everlasting joy, everlasting joy Shall be upon our heads forever Sorrow and sighing will flee away Everlasting joy, forever and ever A new heaven and a new earth are coming God Himself will wipe away every tear No more death, no more mourning, no more crying Everlasting joy is finally here From the morning stars that sang at first To the joy that's waiting at the end Every song of joy has been a whisper Of the joy that never has to end From the morning stars that sang at first To the joy that's waiting at the end Every song of joy has been a whisper Of the joy that never has to end Everlasting joy, everlasting joy Shall be upon our heads forever Sorrow and sighing will flee away Everlasting joy, forever and ever A new heaven and a new earth are coming God Himself will wipe away every tear No more death, no more mourning, no more crying Everlasting joy is finally here Everlasting joy Forever and ever Everlasting joy This is our forever
